Birds of a feather
Chill in the communal bush
Cling against cold wind

Winter's harsh struggle
Shared company, warmth of friends
A cloak of courage

A swifter warning
Affords the flock quick escape
of approaching fangs

Begin Again

Reset, glorious
Every day try again
Heralded in gold

Kaleidoscope shifts
All jewels and toys new pattern'd
What to do today?

See the day's colors
Love the day's loves, oh, so deep!
Build thy edifice

Aspen Sunset

The aspen leaves of red and gold
framed the dryad's face
The slender trunks swayed in the winds
But could not match her grace

And as she danced, her red-gold hair
streamed and caught the breeze
Obscuring white arms with shoulders bare
Last waltz before the freeze

Dance, my lovely spirit
Quake upon the winds
For soon the snow will silent fall
And match your bark again

Empower Up

Begin in beauty
Or make it if you need to
Seize the day, both hands!

Don't accept lame fate
Forge the dream you keep inside
Savage obstacles!

No fate but what's made
You make it or someone will
Warrior thyself!

Giant Lotus

The stage of growth the lotus flower is in represents a different stage of enlightenment. A closed lotus flower represents the time before a Buddhist follower found Buddha or enlightenment. A lotus flower fully bloomed and open represents full enlightenment and self-awareness.
The mud represents an importance in the meaning of the lotus flower in Buddhism. All humans are born in a world where there is suffering. This suffering is a vital part of the human experience; it makes us stronger and teaches us to resist the temptation of evil. When we banish evil thoughts from our mind we are able to break free of the muddy water and become one with the Buddha. The mud shows us who we are and teaches us to choose the right path over the easy one.      -From "The Meaning of the Lotus"  Buddhists.org

Blue Waterlily with Reflected Sky

“For all that ye may ever keep is just what you give away, and that you give away is advice, counsel, manner of life you live yourself.  The manner in which you treat your fellow man, your patience, your brotherly love, your kindness, your gentleness. That you give away, that is all that ye may possess in those other realms of consciousness.”  - Edgar Cayce

Apple Of My Eye

Ripen, grow your sweetness
Slowly perfect your taste
Draw your substance from the earth
From the rain of heaven
This cannot be hurried, not shortcut
It is you
Sweet perfection cider

And the winds of change

Stars and Flowers in Love

In the starry night garden
You and I held each other close
I caressed the planes of your face
With mine, and my fingertips
The moon was fringed by your blown hair
Across my view

As the night jasmine bloomed
You held my face between your hands
For a long, long moment
You have all night, no hurry
Savor us, I am overwhelmed
With a joy that is now and forever

Consume me, my love!
Dance upon the bonfire of this night!
Never before or again this wild a delight
We will live forever in a moment
That will scar us with its ecstasy
And warm us when the memory's called

Sips minerals from the mud

My Joie de vivre
Crowds heart and soul to bursting
Must not scare him off

Delicate, my love
How careful, protective I
Of exquisite you

Open mouthed, spellbound
Paralyzed by wonderment
Inevitable

For my garden, love

All desire, dream on

The Creature That Ate The Mushrooms I Wanted To Photograph, Guess What? You're Modeling!

Pine sawyer beetle
Hopes I might be good eating
I am far too tough

Yet tender, gentle
I do not begrudge his try
Can't help it, small bot

Down and back you go
Ground dwelling mushroom eater
Cleanse palate of me

Home again, again
Searching my beetle buddy
"Bite" in top search terms

Given enough time
He'd work his way all through me
I ain't standing still

Columbine Time

Beside the mountain waterfall
My true heart love and I
Tasted mists so fresh and cool
Watching wind-tossed columbines

The hummingbird was made to dip
Whilst feeding at the sky bells
The wind sped him upon his way
To the next set of blue-white shells

I felt his lips upon my neck
Closing my eyes to the sun
Completely at peace in our little spot
My true love and I are one

Seduction Of the Bee

Poised, the iris wing
Open, catch the sunrise bug
On thy golden beard

Luridly sweet scent
Flying lovelorn, know not why
Here lies its desire

Velvet tongues of beard
Sensual pollens, heady
Immersed, crazy need

You

Beloved treasure
The pleasure of my life, you
Sweet companion'd share

Sorrows divided
Happiness multiplied well
Memory keeps love

My arm's magic ring
Inside, how deep you feel us
Abiding passion
