Spring is a poem that nature sings

The sun ever more generous each day

Drink deep of the joy the new life brings

Winter's last few punches on the way

Only the hardy are born right now

Tough enough to take another freeze

The knife winter winds have not blown out

Survival is not gained with ease

So kind, the surfeit of early spring blooms

So longed for in midwinter's death

Just a patch of color to dispel the gloom

Quickens the heart, sharpens cold breath

Awaken, my heart!

Dare to hope.

Jungle machete

Fighting the vegetation

The orchids laughing

Flowers of last year

only the delicate stem

comforts cold winter

Frosted flowers bloom

Transient as the plant life

Catch before the sun

Pale phalenopsis

Lures the butterfly, the moth

To mix new orchids

                                                     Crystallization
                                                 Molecules geometric
                                              Proof, Math never sleeps

                                                  Feathery crystals

                                         Ice grows like delicate blooms
